World Book Day

The school aims to celebrate World Book Day very prominently to enhance literacy skills in children, thus:

Years 4, 5 and 6 participated in the ‘Writing Story Books” Competition launched annually by the School Library Service. This year 99 children presented their story books.

Years 1, 2 and 3 children participated in the topic ‘The Computer/Internet as a means of communication’ launched by the school. Children made models of computers, keyboards, laptops, mouses etc., drew, wrote, produced and mounted information on fact sheets.

All the storybooks, models and write-up will be on display in the school’s foyer. Children participating in this initiative will be awarded on Celebration Day scheduled for Wednesday 21st April. On World Book Day members of the staff will read some extracts from books of their choice to all children in the Morning Assembly.
